Today innovation plays a leading role in supporting culture, both in terms of accessibility and in-depth analysis, managing to offer visitors and users highly engaging content, to enrich in presence visits.
The Santa Maria della Giustizia APP was created with this goal: to collect different types of experiences dedicated both to the structure itself and to the centre of Taranto and to some of its main points of interest connected to the former monastery.
The application is available for both Android and iOS operating systems and offers a series of insights and extra contents in AR (augmented reality), some of which can be used in presence and others remotely, from wherever the user is.

Create the emotions that the visitor will experience during the visit to Santa Maria della Giustizia and at the same time give the opportunity to those who cannot reach this wonderful place to enjoy an experience that can carry them within these walls. This is the goal we set ourselves in the development of the various AR tools included in the official application.
The portals
Activate the portals anywhere, passages which, once crossed, transport the user directly inside the structure. Taking advantage of augmented reality technology, 360-degree content and 3D modelling, it is possible to experience the rooms of the structure or take a leap into the past by discovering a reconstruction of the territory in the 1600s.
The finds
Explore the 3D reconstructions of some of the finds unearthed during the various excavations carried out in the area of the structure and discover the ancient monks’ pantry in the refectory.

There are several points of interest in Taranto which, in addition to being loved by locals and tourists, have a particular connection with Santa Maria della Giustizia. What binds them to our monastery? You will get the answer from Friar Nicola, alias of the Taranto actor and director Massimo Cimaglia, who will be able to give you valuable information through dedicated AR content.
The application allows you to identify POIs (points of interest) and select them to be able to enjoy the insights, both in audio and text versions in Italian and English.
